OVERVIEW
Physical Education study enables students to use practical activities to underpin contemporary theoretical understanding of the influences on participation and performance in physical activity, sport and exercise. Students also develop an understanding of the anatomical, biomechanical, physiological and skill acquisition principles, and of behavioural, psychological, environmental and sociocultural influences on performance and participation in physical activity across the lifespan
They will engage in physical activity and movement experiences to determine and analyse how the body systems work together to produce and refine movement and critically evaluate changes in participation from a social-ecological perspective and performance in physical activity, sport and exercise through monitoring, testing and measuring of key parameters.
Through the study of the how the human body works to create movement, students will be able to see and reflect how each system are perfectly created and seamlessly work together to create efficient movement. Students gain respect for our bodies as a unique gift of God’s creation, and for the performances that we as individuals can achieve. Students also explore the rights of others in to access and enjoy physical activity. Our purpose is to develop a healthy Christian attitude towards competition and participation, in that the activity is there for the enjoyment of “all”, not just the gifted.
