Outdoor and Environmental Studies

OVERVIEW

This unit focuses on understanding and protecting our different outdoor environments. What is the human impact that effects our outdoor environments? How as Christians, do we minimize impacts from humans. God has placed us as guardians of this incredibly intricate creation, so how do we best do this? Students will study broader aspects that are influenced by humans, such as ecology, economic and social implications. Students also investigate how technologies and changing lifestyles impact outdoor environments. Students develop practical skills required to participate in outdoor activities in a way that minimizes the impacts to outdoor environments. This all helps to develop a theoretical knowledge about natural environments. Our Purpose is to develop a healthy Christian perspective concerning the protection of our environment.
