Music

“The aim and final reason of all music should be nothing else but the glory of God and the refreshment of the spirit.” Johann Sebastian Bach

Overview

Students develop skills through playing instruments, reading and analysing a wide range of music. They develop aural skills by identifying and performing rhythm and pitch patterns. Students practice technical and expressive skills in singing and play instruments with understanding within a range of musical styles. Using body percussion, voice, technology and instruments, students explore duration, pitch, dynamic, texture and musical structure. They use these elements of music to create contrast, repetition and balance to their compositions. Students worship God as they honour him with the music they create and perform to their peers, and the wider community.
