History

“What are all histories but God manifesting himself, shaking down and trampling under foot whatsoever he hath not planted.” Oliver Cromwell

OVERVIEW

Year 9 History focuses on the Modern World and Australia from 1750 to 1918. Students explore a number of significant global events and trends that defined this dramatic period of change, such as the Industrial Revolution, the making of modern Australia and Asia, and World War One. Students analyse the effects of major values and beliefs on world affairs and evaluate positive and negative aspects of change. Developing the intellectual skills of inquiry and critical thinking and applying knowledge to develop and communicate understandings are a key part of the course.
